Baby Serpent Sea Stars???
Morning all. This week I have noticed about ten or so little little white things grazing on algy off one of my rocks. They look like little Serpent Sea Stars about the size of a dime each. They only come our at night, and when some sort of light is turned on, the are gone with in a few minutes. I dont have any sort of star in my tank and am just curous 1. what they are and 2. how they got there 3. should and how could I rid my tank of them if they are bad. They havent bothered anything yet and hopefully wont. I havn't added anything to my tank in about three months or so and all that was were a few turbo snails. The biggest impact on my tank was last month when my anemone died. Any help would be great. I will take some pics tonight to show you...it is wild. Thanks all!

baby brittle stars often come long as hitchhikers on LR or Macro algae. a picture would really help, but they are hard to get . i have several in my refugium and they don't get much bigger than your thumbnail.

I hope they are not a bad thing, if in fact that is what they are.

baby bristle stars are great for the tank. they will multiply in your tank, and stay small. take a look here http://www.melevsreef.com/id/kritter1.html

They aren't bad. They are part of your clean up crew.
