oh no...! new goby...!!! bioload question...

i came home today from work, and immediately, i started noticing stuff that are out of place... first, i noticed that my light cord is off to the side of the tank instead of going to the back... my scissors was out of place... my acclimation water container is in my wash room instead of the closet... i was like hmmm...

then when i started feeding my fishes, i noticed a small greenbanded goby...! my father had bought it... i have a 30 gallons with a Potter's angelfish, a percula clownfish, and a hi-fin goby... i thought that i had perfect bioload with just those 3 fishes and was not really planning on getting anymore...

i agree that the greenbanded goby is a nice fish, but i was just wondering if my bioload for this tank is still ok with 4 fishes... the 3 fishes i mentioned are still small at about 1.5-2 inches... the new goby is about half an inch... i know that is not saying much since the Potter's and the percula can pretty much grow to over 3"...

How much filtration are you running in your tank? Is it a sump, sump/fuge, HOB, and how much live rock?

Really though, most gobies dont make up for alot of bioload on the system because they arent considered active swimmers like the angel. As far as growth, how much over 3 inchs have you heard for the clown? The most Ive ever seen them is pretty much at that 3 inch mark and that was at a zoo.

Don't stress yourself about this so much, if your really worried go ahead and do a early small water change.

i like the fish too, but i've been holding out on buying any new fishes... i have about 40-45 lbs of live rocks... i have a hang on tank skimmer running off a 500gph OceanRunner pump... no sump or fuge though...

Just a protien skimmer, no filter with sponge and carbon?

I don't see why you would have to big of a bio-load, especially with that much live rock...don't worry about it man, everything will be fine.

Nah,Nay, nope or no!!! i got 30g with 3 fish , planning to add 1 or 2 more. im running cpr bakpak II skimmer, about 55 lbs live rocks and few lbs of Live sand and my bio-load still low. DO some water change and you will be allright , dude!!

Planning to add sump and fuge connected to my 30g..

wonder if the sump will help decrease my bioload? I plan to put more LRS in sump for filter.
