Does water quality effect the molting of inverts?
I was just curious to know if water parameters (other then iodine) effect the molting patterns of inverts.
The reason Im asking is cause I just purchased a pistol shrimp and the day that I put em in the tank he molted. I dont know if this is a good thing or bad thing? or maybe just a coincidence opinions?

I often find that hermits molt right after they're moved, and I know that shrimp and crabs can molt to remove toxins from their system - I had a problem with my cleaner a while back, the iodine level in the tank was too high (an accident) and he molted three times in two weeks. The first two times he came out 'curly' and missing limbs, the third time he was fine.

My pistol shrimp had some nice claws on em and after he molted, all he had left were these tiny legs with pinchers on them. Maybe a tenth of the size they used to be...
My hawkfish ate em after he molted so I think the hawkfish is gonna go back to the LFS next week
