Need an ID please
I have something growing on my live rock. There was no sign of it when I first started cycling the tank. In 1.5 months it has grown out of the live rock to 5/8 inch long. It is 1/16" wide at the end. It tapers down to about 1/32" where it attaches to the rock. The end is rounded and there are faint rings, like growth rings down it. It is lime green, it does not move and I never see anything come out of it. My best guess is some type of sponge. Any idea what it is. I have checked the ID sites with no luck. Thanks for the help. Oh and it is in a 5.5 gallon nano.

Spindleweed. A macro that uses calcium much like Halimeda. I had some in my tank until my urchin ate it.
