400W AquaConnect 14k

Does this bulb have the same look as the 250W AquaConnect and Phoenix?? If I look at sanjay's tests, the 400W has a higher blue spike and a slightly different spectral pattern than the 250W version...

Is it bluer than the 250? Does it have the same "poping" effect on corals?

I know our lfs has the 400watt on his tank and I just put the 250watts on my tank 5 days ago sothey have not burned in yet. So far they look the same to me, although he had some really nice light blue montis which I bought and brought them home and they had a little purple in them under my lights, if that tells you anything. I really like these bulbs and almost bought the reefluxs 10k but now I'm glad I didn't. I just don't understand why more people don't run them, maybe because they are so expensive and hard to find.

Your welcome. I would call them bright compared to 20K.I had Hamilton 10K's on before and they are white and bright. These bulbs are almost as bright and they don't have to much blue in them. The colors are better, especially the greens so far. They give the water a blue look but not to blue. How do you like your Schuran? I have been thinking about getting one and have heard good things about them.

Perfect, exactly what I wanted to hear! I will give them a try...

My shuran is in a box, right next to the H&S I'm only setting up my tank once I'm in my condo in July... I read really good things too and I know a guy who has it and is very satisfied, the craftsmanship is simply perfect.
