how noisy are the little giant pumps?

any one have good or bad expierence with these? mainly want to know about the noise.

I have the Little Giant 4000 as a return pump from my acrylic sump/stand from the Aquarium Company. It is what he supplied with pretty much a kit for my 120 gal. I probably have 4' of head at the most. I am very happy with the pump. Very quiet even with the doors off. I can't hear it run. Many people have complained about these pumps, but I have not have had problem one. I am running it submerged though.

ummm....very noise pump. I had the 4wxmd or something like that and decided to use it as a pond pump in the back yard! Go with the Iwaki's.

I have a couple. I also have Iwaki's. The little giants are reasonably quiet and quite reliable in my experience.

it's not that noisy, but not quiet either, if you have some rubber matt below them to keep them from vibrating, it might be better though.

Mine have been pretty quiet in the past. I don't use them anymore (changed sump plan), but when I did research on these a few years back, I found lots of mixed reviews on noise.

What made mine loud were the internal workings, the impeller and such. No matter how much padding I used, I would have had to build a noise dampening box around it thus elevating the heat and getting to overload temps, so in came the Iwaki's. Problem solved.

pump

I purchased my QO-4000 last year it has run non stop since And I still cannot hear it, it is submerged as a return.
