too much light?

Currently I running a 36" nova extreme lt-5 package.
I believe that it has 4 39 watt bulbs.

My problem is that the bulbs are pretty narrow and leave shadows in whatever part of the tank they are not over.

I plan on putting SPS in the back half of the tank- would it be too much light if I added a single MH fixture over the area where I want to put SPS and then move my T-5's all the way to the front?

The dimensions of my tank are 30" x 16" x 20"

Thanks for the advice.
