Removing sand? Going from 3" to 1"
I would like to remove about 2" worth of sand in my 90G.
I simply don't like the look of it - would rather have the sand come up to the tank bottom trim. I got plenty of LR in there for biological filtration - can i just scoop away during a 10% water change? am i asking for trouble?

I went from a 5"+ sand bed down to about an inch in my first tank. I just did it slowly with water changes and everything was fine. I think you should be fine as long as it is a gradual change.

thanks Blazer...i would say that only 30% of the sand is exposed - the rest has rocks on top - so i will have somewhat of a slant-down from back to front, left to right.
