Help needed in set up

I am setting up a 30'x30'x24' tank. i need help in choosing a suitable skimmer, suitable sump design, pumps needed, and how i should place everything so that i can have good flow without having the unsightly powerheads showing. i am planning on having a 250w mh to light the whole tank. this tank will be a mixed reef with a little sps in it. i will also have a phosphate and carbon reactor as well as a calcium reactor. do you think all these can be squeezed into the cabinet and yet maintain maximum efficiency in my filtration?

Re: Help needed in set up

Well, that's a lot of questions! Let me try to help by answering one or two:

For this, consider setting up a Closed Loop. Do a search for this term and you'll find plenty of information.

As for the skimmer, I can only recommend that you see what's available in Singapore. The skimmers people on this site suggest will very likely not be available there.

As for pumps, you could keep it down to two: One for your Closed Loop (for circulation), and one for the return from your sump. Fewer pumps will also help keep the heat down, which may be an issue for you.

go with either the deltec or h&s skimmer. And definetly go with a closed loop. As far as the lighting you will need 2 250w MH bulbs. or 1 250w mh with a couple of 96watt power compact bulbs(either 50/50 mix or all actinic).

Not sure about the reactors because I do not currently run any. I hopefully will in the future.

Another thing to consider is a chiller. Not sure of the temperatures in singapore but you might need one.
