microbubbles/filter socks
Does anyone have experience using filter socks (100 micron) on the sump drains to limit the number of microbubbles getting into the main tank? I'm just wondering if/how well they work. I know they have to be rinsed frequently.

I haveused them before, they work pretty well, they will catch about 90% of the bubbles.

I use a filter sock on my tank and it works awesome. Zero microbubbles. I wash it once a week in the washing machine in hot water with just bleach and an extra rinse cycle.

Takes out all my microbubbles. There are some things to consider when using a sock....such as pods, critters, etc. not being able to travel freely from display to sump/refuge, but there are ways around it. More reading here:
