ID- Q-tip looking tube

I have several of these things growing out of small holes in my rocks. They seem to be getting bigger. The look like the cotton tips of a 1-tip with a small hole at the end. Does anyone know what they are?

probably a sponge. maybe a pineapple sponge. do they have hairs around the hole? look around here www.melevsreef.com/id and see if you can find a match
