Scheduling time away: Minimum lighting period and other ??s...

I am planning a trip in early June and will be away from my tiny 12g tank for 9 days. I will have to find someone to come by and do a couple of things every other day (every day would be a lot to ask.) So, what i'm thinking of is running the 70w halide for only 4hrs/day to cut back on evaporation (maybe less, but not sure what is too little for the coral to survive.. mixed tank.) And having someone come out and top off and feed every other day.

Thoughts? Experiences?

While the master quietly served tea, the professor talked about Zen. The master poured the visitor’s cup to the brim, and then kept pouring. The professor watched the overflowing cup until he could no longer restrain himself. “It’s overfull! No more will go in!” the professor blurted. “You are like this cup,” the master replied, “How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup.” Current Tank Info: 56g, 20g.
