Normal type over flow not draining properly???

My good old normal type overflow isnt draining properly. Id like to use something to unclog it, perhaps theres a snail caught in there?

I dont want to use a coat hanger because something tells me the metals in it will not be good for my reef. Soooo, I was hopping somebody could come up with something else I could do to unclog my overflow.

Thanks for the advice.
