How big do they get, this one is 3/4 in.. found two that size

Agreed a chiton. One of the cooler hitchers. They have a cool segmented shell. I've one about 1.5 inches. Only seen it once though. It seems to spend all its time in the dirt.

In one of my books it says that it is reef safe in most cases....
