Best way to remove sand
I want to remove some sand out of my DSB as it's covering the megaflow lower vents. What's the best way to remove it w/o sandstorming the tank? I was thinking of siphoning it somehow when I did a water change. Should I let gravity do the work for me or use a pump/etc?

I removed some sand the other day by just siphoning it out when I was doing a water change. I think the siphon will work fine.

Using a tube to siphon it would be your best bet. I'd use a bigger size tube to remove it faster and reduce clogging.

I just pulled out about 2.5 cups of sand...and used 10 gals of water. Is there a better way?

Ok here is best way siphone sand bed by large tube like doing water change. Send it into r/o barrell or what ever you mix water/salt in for water change. I set up large filter sock 1 1/2 foot size heavy duty, tie to handle. Have pump or power head with return hose sending water back into tank. This way water and sand bed comes out and you send water back in. Just watch filter sock to not get too full and heavy.
