UV for a 300+ gallon system?

In the market for a UV for my holding system. Will eventually have about 1000 gallons, but right now has 330 give or take.
Which UV is the best? I want to keep it under 300-400 with pump...

thanks for the help!

I don't think you can keep it under 300-400 unless you go used. I just purchased a Emperor Aquatics 80W HO for my set up does up to a 900 gal system but it was $700 not including pump but you are getting serious quality. Spend a little more it will be worth it. This UV will be the last one you ever but. My perspective on my equipment is buy the best of everything. It will cost a little more but you will be happy.

The Emperor Aquatics look very nice, but so are the AquaUV brand sterilizers. Do a search for that name and a bunch of places to buy them will come up. They are made extremely well and look great too.

I would think for a system that size you would want the biggest strongest UV possible. A doubt 36 watt is going to cut it, if do anything at all. For a system that big I would seriously look at something at least over 80 watts. There are some that fit together to make as many watts as you want.

If you don't have the cash now save and buy a good one. Why buy a 1000 gal system and not have the proper equipment to run it. If you buy cheap that's what you will have Cheap stuff that does not work properly and do what you wish. I would wait till you have the cash to buy a good one.
