Does a SCWD reduce flow or pump efficinecy?
I have running an Mag 7 w/ a SCWD for a year or so on a CL system. I bought one when it was all the rage.
I often wonder if the SCWD cuts down on the flow rate or efficinecy. I like it's concept of alternating flow, but my gut is telling me that it really reduces the pumps flow. I was thinking about dropping it and going with a Sea Swirl. Any comments or feed back on either?

I have read that they do reduce the flow.

25% !! That is quite a bit after you take into consideration the already reduction in flow from your piping.

There is a mod you can do to open up the two ports, so that the reduction in flow isn't so bad.

the percentage of flow reduction depends on the pressure rating and fow of the pump. In general, the larger the flow, the larger the flow reduction...more than 25% if you run a Mag9 or 12 on it...more like 40%.
