Calcium +3
Has anyone ever used this stuff. It's called Calcium +3. Has most of the elements needed to be put into a reef tank. Just wanting some feedback on this product. I think it's made by red sea.

Calcium, Strontium, Molybdenum, Iodine.
Calcium and strontium are utilized by corals, other calcareous invertebrates and seaweed. Iodine and molybdenum are essential for the cell processes of the aquarium inhabitants. These elements are used up faster than can be compensated by partial water changes. Calcium +3 is the only formulated calcium replenisher which combines strontium, molybdenum and iodine in a unique manner so that no cation or anion displacement occurs when added to the aquarium. This formula will promote the growth of hard corals and other invertebrates. The way this product is instructed to be used is: Mix 5ml into top-off fresh water once a week for 60g tank. Now, I've been using this to raise my Sr levels in my tank, doesn't seem to be working. I'm consistently testing 0-3 range on the Salifert test, .92 on the syringe. I've added as much as 10ml within a week in my 20 and my Ca is reading about 420ppm. I think Red Sea Pharm is going downhill. Their website is the first tipoff to me since it's incomplete. The recent tests I ran on their salt was unsatisfactory, their tests are unsatisfactory, and now their products are unsatisfactory. I've been using their products since I started this hobby 12 yrs ago, but as I increase my expertise, I'm finding their products insufficient. I've reached a point where I'm switching over to Seachem due to the success that I've had with them, esp with DeNitrate. |

I would avoid that product. I'm not a believer in dosing iodine, and I'd go with a balanced additive like one of the two-parts: B-Ionic, C-Balance, Tech-CB, etc., as a starter, and then consider either making my own two-part (to save money) or use limewater.
