Holdfast Epoxy
After attempting to use some of this product today (actually, a whole tube), I have come up with some more effective names for the product.
Let go of whatever you think it's holding to as soon as you let go, causing your new coral to fall down onto the sandbed, crushing everything in its path fast epoxy WORST-INVENTION-EVER epoxy Suckfast epoxy The only thing fast about this epoxy is how long it takes to **** ME OFF epoxy Basically, this wont work unless you want to mount your corals upside down on the bottom of your tank epoxy If epoxy is supposed to harden into a disc, and then let go of your coral and the rock, this is what your looking for epoxy Hold on a minute, isn't epoxy supposed to be an adhesive? epoxy Sit there with you hand in the tank, fish biting your arm, for ten minutes hoping it will actually do something, only to sit the coral on a level shelf after finding out it wont stick to anything epoxy Here is my hatred for Holdnothing epoxy expressed in haiku form: HoldFast epoxy I think tape would work better Worst purchase ever Skimmer overflow So mad I have a seizure Now my carpets wet Every time I see Green and White now I vomit Threw it all away Epoxy: n. pl. epoxies 1. Any of various usually thermosetting resins capable of forming tight cross-linked polymer structures characterized by toughness, strong adhesion, and low shrinkage, used especially in surface coatings and adhesives. 2. When preceeded with the phrase "Holdfast", none of the above. ![]() ![]() ![]()

on another note, I found a way to actually get it to work: mix up two small balls of the stuff you're going to use with a frag. wrap one ball around the base of the frag, leaving a flatish-bottom surface. push the other small ball onto the liverock where you want to attach the frag, leaving a planar surface as well. after a few minutes (not fully cured) place some super glue on the bottom of the frag epoxy, and quickly join it to the epoxy in the tank. hold for a few minutes, and even meld the two epoxy balls together a little. works well for me. hope this helps... again.. you are one funny guy.

I agree. I've pulled hair out trying to get that **** to work. I even turn all my powerheads and water movement off and hold on to the coral for a few minutes and when I let go, I can just watch it slowly peel off again.
The only way I've gotten it to work (and this is 50/50) is I mix the two colors and let it sit for about 6 minutes, almost to the point of hardening, and then just stick whatever it is I wanted to stick together and try to hold it very steady for a minute or two (while all powerheads are off). It works sometimes, but overall the product still sucks @#$%T$#^$%$^. |
