Putting together a refugium to combat nitrate/phosphate

and have a question or two.

LIGHTING-

I have a ten gallon plexi tank I'll be using. I have the pump and I have a continuous overflow. I have already buiit all the plumbing and I included a flow control.

I have researched some lighting and decided to go with a Lights of America 65W floodlight. The problem with this is that I am not an electrician and to connect this particular light you have to connect wires and secure with wire nuts to an existing outdoor floodlight outlet. The problem is that I do not have an outlet and need to build one. My question is HOW can this be done? I need suggestions. Do I just purchase one on those orange extention cords, cut it leaving a few feet, splice the wires together and plug it into a wall outlet?

Thanks--

That's it......make sure you connect the black wires (hot) to the black wires & the white wires (neutral) to the white wires. Use wire nuts to connect the wires & cover the nuts & about 1" of the wires using black (electrician) tape................HTH

Here's what I did, I found an old lamp in my basement that was rated to 100W. I busted the lamp apart until I had just the electrical cord and lightbulb base left over. I screwed in my cheap 65w home depot spotlight bulb and plugged it in and fixed to the side of the Fuge with a wire coat hanger. No electrical stuff required. Very simple and best of all it cheap and easy. I am eventually going to replace the spotlight bulb with one that is slightly more white, as this one is quite yellow.

MadMax...

That's the beauty of the lights of america lights. They are 6500k!

I just purchased the 27w model. If it doesn't seem bright enough I'll take it back for the 65w. They're only $5 difference in price, but electrical costs are more than double, so I went for the smaller one.
