Which live rock?
I can get either of these for basicall the exact same price just give me your opinion should i go with the rock with tons of growth, even though it has to go into a cycling tank; would that even be a good idea?

Live rock is expensive huh? I'd check with these guys and LFS to see if they can give you a good price when they order fresh from the ocean. IMO it's going to be cheaper to get some fresh rock to cycle your tank rather than some cured rock. Just my thoughts!!!

I already have prices worked out with both of these buys if i decide to buy and even with shipping it is much cheaper than paying $6 a lbs for base rock at my LFS or $11 a lb for Fiji. I am going to get between 40-50lbs for a real good price from these guys. They are really nice people to deal with! I was just wondering if you guys have bought from either of them before?

I have gotten all of my LR from Live Aquaria and have not been disappointed. Whoever you get it from go with cured if you can afford it. There wil be plenty of die off in the shipping process to cycle your tank.

I have gotten about 300lbs from them in the last few months and have never been disappointed. I am not sure what box you ordered but I have had the best luck with the 90lb large rock box. Great color and shapes.

Ouch! $11/lb for fiji.... I would order from live aquaria and cycle it myself for the $7-$8/lb savings... Lets see at that price, my tank would have cost about $1980 for just my rock...

Cured rock is a little more expensive, but it does cut down on the headaches associated with cycling the tank. My current tank took a little longer to cycle due to the extensive use of uncured base rock. If you have the pocket book for it, I would buy the cured live rock.

patedship,
I am not real impressed with the way either of those types of live rock look. Although, it is very hard to tell from a pic. |

check out this website www.reefscience.com. I have no experience with them at all, I just like the color of the rock.

i purchased 130lbs uncured live rock (Fiji) and was very impressed. Try getting price quotes from livestockusa.org. It was closer to $3.00 lb plus shipping! Lots of shapes, colors, and many hitch hikers. The new tank cycled in approx. 4 weeks with little trouble. Good luck
