purigen regeneration?

According to seachem:

Regeneration: Soak in a 1:1 bleach:water solution for 24 hours in a non-metalic container in a well ventilated area and away from children. Rinse well, then soak for 8 hours with a solution containing 2 tablespoons of ChlorGuardâ„¢, Primeâ„¢, or equivalent dechlorinator per cup of water. Rinse well. Original color and full activity should now be restored and Purigenâ„¢ is ready for reuse. Caution: some slime coat products may permanently foul Purigenâ„¢ and render regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if odor of chlorine is detectable. In case of doubt, soak beads in small quantity of water and test for residual chlorine with a chlorine test kit.

I am currently soaking in 1:1 bleach/water
1. My question is has anyone regenerated this product with good success?
2. Has anyone used Aquarium Pharamaceuticals slime coat water conditionaer to perform step two?

1....yes I have done this a few times and it has worked for me
2....I tried it with slime coat, but I trusted it more with a good soak and rinse in fresh ro/di water until there was no more bleach smell.

How long did you soak it for in ro/di?

sounds good, i plan to soak in ro/di--- for maybe 24 hours--and maybe to be on the safe side add a little slime coat to the tank when re-interducing the the product in my filter. Kind of bugs though i had a bottle of Prime by seachem (recogmended by seachem in step two) for over two years and had just threw it out several months ago. i guess that's just my luck.
