Culligan RO

I was given a Culligan Good Water Machine AC-30 (4 stage RO). All the filters are new, the only thing missing is the faucet. Just wondering if this would be a good unit for a reef tank or if it is to expensive to use. The membrane is approx. $60 dollars to replace on there web site?

Buy something else. My culligan unit never put out better than 23TPS.

Could change out the filters to better ones as well as the membrane. Look at airwaterice.com ( I think) or purelyh2o.com for filters that can be changed. I have a watts premiere that I will be changing the filters out and the membrane to make it a better RO as well as adding a DI to it as well.

Thanks for all the replies. The canister looks longer on the culligan, but I could be mistaken. Anyway, I think I'm going with one of the other units. Thanks again.

Can you take some pictures of the system so I can see what you can do with it.

Yeah

The main problem you are going to run into with that system is that the filters are designed for that unit alone. You really cant just go to a hardware store to buy them. Thats how they get ya

If you add a DI to the system you can at least make sure that is standard 10 inch and be able to buy them at better prices. You are pretty much at the mercy of Culligan with that one unfortunately.

Good luck
