iceprobe conflicting with Pinpoint pH
When I plug in my iceprobe, my pinpoint pH meter goes nuts (readings sway all over the place, and I mean ALL over the place)... has anyone ever seen this happen before?
Thanks, - Jeff |

pH is very temperature related. Move them as far apart as you can. I don't use a pinpoint, and I've never seen one used. I bought a used scientific meter and it has a temp probe attached to it also. Does the pinpoint also havea temp probe? If so maybe you can just move the pH meters temp probe to a further location.

I would also wonder if it's EMF interference. pH doesn't change that much with temperature. If the readings change by more than 0.5-1.0 pH units, it probably isn't a local temperature drop.
However, the solution is the same; move the probe (and meter) as far from the iceprobe as possible. If that doesn't work, you could try a make-shift faraday cage by putting aluminum foil around the meter. |

I don't know how much further I can move the probe - the pH probe's now in the main tank and the iceprobe is still in the sump...

Are you using the ac adaptor for the pinpoint? If so, switch to a battery and see if that fixes it.
