red hair alge
what causes red hair alge and what is the best way to get rid of it i have it starting in my tank mixed with fish and corals i have a uv sterilizer that runs almost all the time so im not sure what is the cause behind it any advise

It may not be hair algea. Does it blow off the rock easily? Is it a red/purple color? I have had this problem and mine was cynobacteria and is generally caused by excessive nutrient/phosphate in the water. If your tanl is fairly new, it is part of the cycle (within the 1st year). Hope this helps.
