New anemone
Got my first anemone this week, a purple Macrodactyla doreensis (LTA). I've been waiting for a purple version for while, and found it by accident at my LFS when I went in for supplies.
![]() My POS digital camera just can't get the color right, it's actually a lot more purple. Here is a pic of my female Clarkii getting aquainted. ![]() The clownfish have actually been a pain, they have dislodged it twice from the sandbed. Also picked up some Pseudanthias bimaculatus(twinspot anthias) which are almost finished with quarantine. The camera doesn't do them justice, they are quite colorful. Here's the male: ![]() And one of the 4 females. ![]()

Nice score! My purple LTA is huge and my favorite invert in my tank for sure. Definatly a crowd pleaser. Good luck with it.

From the looks of it the anemone is way too small for your clarkii.

You're right graveyard, the foot is only about the size of a silver dollar, but that's what they had. So far it doesn't seem to mind the activity, except when the male blasted the sand free. Next thing I see is the anemone floating across the front of the tank.
Fragaholic, yours looks just like mine. You're shrimp must like to live dangerously crawling over your LTA like that.

Unless you separate the two, there is a good chance that the clownfish may even kill the anemone.

If the anemone appears like its not tolerating things I have a 2 liter Coke bottle cut in half with a bunch of holes drilled in it to place over the anemone. I used it initially to give it time to attach, but I'm hoping I won't have to leave it on. We'll see. I'd have to tear the tank apart to get the clownfish out of there, its 210 gallons with lots of places to hide.

My female clarkii loves to dig under my LTA, and if it wasnt so big with its foot wedged under some LR she could probably pop it loose. I've also placed some LR rubble around it to help prevent her digging. The LTA is about 10 - 12 inches across and she's less than 2 inches even so she can be very rough.

Yeah, they dive bomb the LTA pretty hard at times. My clarkii's are about 2 years old and the female is pretty big right now. I also made a rubble ring around the LTA which you can see in the picture. Hopefully everyone will settle down and play nice together.

Thanks Amber. Purple ones seem to be hard to find around here. There were actually two available in the store at the time, along with a boatload of rose BTA's.
