Has anyone ever removed the center brace in a 75g?
My MH Lights are causing shadows and it's driving me nuts. Even If I move them I still have them. I'm considering removing the brace what do you think?

I just asked the same thing about my 120. I'm sure the responses would apply to your question as well. Here's the link to the thread:

you could put new braces in or move you old braces to an area that would be out of the way for you lights

I had an acrylic 100 without one, and over years of warm water and being full, it slowly began to bow in a very alarming way.
I wonder if you could do something about your light pattern, by installing one additional light that would confuse the pattern---the eye can view chaos as aesthetic: it's two distinct spots that it objects to.

I would NOT remove it. It will definitely bow or crack. I know first hand by others trying it.
You can install a euro-brace. Anytime messing with the support of a tank, it is recommended that it be empty. |

Looking back at the day that I took a hacksaw and sawed my plastic brace off 2 years ago while the tank was full, I didn't really realize how much potential problems I could have had.
I'm in a 65 - things are ok so far - but I should have eurobraced. |
