CaribSea Mineral Mud

Has anyone used this before and if so what is their opinion of it. Has anyone done any comparison with Miracle Mud?

The side of the container says "..provides a variety of trace elements including iodine, strontium, calcium, iron and free Carbon. An addition it contains live marine bacteria."

I just bought a gallon Mineral Mud to test it out in my bucket refugium. It came with a live centipede crawling inside the container. Do they just dig this stuff up in their yard and ship it? Should I just have used some dirt out of my Dad's compost bin instead?

I bought it because Miracle mud was too much money and I thought I'd see if I notice any improvments with this knockoff. I've read a review of the components of Miracle Mud and they do say it is mostly silica but I've had people like Mike Paletta who says it is great stuff.

Does anyone here use this stuff and what is your opinion on the stuff? Has anyone tried using normal soil in their refugium?

Thanks,
Chris

I used a combination of mineral mud, miricle mud and, kent marine biosediment. I have had great results. My culerpa is growing like crazy and my mangroves are doing well too. The miricle mud was just too expensive to do my whole fuge.

I started a mud fuge with the caribsea mud but it's too early to say. I started it about a month ago.
