What is this?
OK Just filled my tank to check for leaks and this valve thingy which is located in the center of the base of the tank is leaking. So my question is: What is this valve for and do I need it????
Any help would surely be appreciated. |

WOW!! I might be wrong, or it may just be the light in the pic but it looks like the entire hole around that 'valve' is shattered/splintered. IMO you will be lucky if you ever get that tank to hold water.

I wouldn't trust that tank to hold water whether the valve is ok or not. Looks like an accident waiting to happen.
BTW - make sure you join us over in the FRAG forum if you haven't found it already. Lots of other AZ folks over there. Crystal

Yeah I think the cracks are what's causing the leaking.

No....the cracks are just in the glass piece that is around the valve. The little spout on the outside pic is what is leaking.

The first picture looks like it has some sort of wing nut. Maybe you could tighten that.
