sump fuge question

Well I just installed my sump (10g) the other day to my 30g reef, and I was wondering if I could just throw some macroalgea in the sump with some lights instead of making a full out fuge? Would that work or just forget it? Thanks

Yes, that will work. Macroalgea will help with nutrient export. Just make sure it doesn't get sucked into the pumps or anythings.

What do you have in your sump? I don't know if you want macro algae just floating around in there.

I just have all my plumbing and skimmer, and heater in the sump. I was thinking about using egg crate, and making a section for the algea so it wont get sucked up in any pumps
And, just get some cheap light fixture at lowes or somewhere for the lighting? Like a flood light or something?

That should do the trick.

Track lighting (incandescent) seems to work for some people. It's definitely cheap!
