Calcium Reactor Recommendations
I have a 100 gallon reef tank with a heavy load. I invested money in a Reeftek reactor approximately one year ago. Unfortunately, it has not functioned properly and constantly airlocks rendering it useless. Jorge has been quite helpful in trying to remedy, but it's just not working.
I am now looking for another reactor. Specifically, I am looking at the Geo 612. Does anybody have any input on this reactor (pros or cons) and does anybody have any other recommendations? Thanks, Rob

I'd take a serious look at www.aquaticsystemsdesign.com
For the price, you cannot beat the quality. I have had my single chamber running for 3 years strong with no problems at all now. |

I have a GEO 618. It's well built, easy to load and clean and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I've had it for about 5 mo now. I would recommend it.

Seems like a shame to replace such a good reactor. What is a airlock cause from? Must be some way to fix it.

The cause of the airlock is a mystery.....literally. There is slight salt creep around the head of the pump. The impeller housing has been tightened. I have ruled out microbubbles through the feed pump in the sump. Jorge was kind enough to replumb the unit (hard plumbed), and the media was changed out two months ago.
For the life of us, it's a mystery???????
