Very Loud Mag 24

I have just installed a brand new return pump, the Magdrive 24 as noted in the title. This thing is loud with a significant vibration. Any thoughts as to the cause?

Yep, its caused by being a mag 24

Any details on the setup--- mainly concerned about piping sizes and do you have anything on the inlet side of the pump (strainer or anything)---

From what I've read alot of people need to put some type of padding under the pump and don't hard plumb from the discharge-- use some hose for at least part of the run to reduce noise...

I haven't used anything bigger then a mag 12 and it seemed to cavitate some--- IMO these pumps inlets are too small for their rated flows (causing the cavitating)...

Got this resolved actually. Thanks much for the reply, in any case, because that suggestion to plumb with flexible tubing is a good one and I intend try. Discussed the issue with Marine Depot. They were extremely helpful and agreed to replace the pump.
