Pump suggestion???? Dart vs Ampmaster?

I am redoing my 210 gallon system. Have had a Dolphin Ampmaster 2100 running it. It has no heat transfer and is pretty silent. Does has salt kreep so I bought a new seal. Also bought a Sequence Dart due to all the Reef Central praise as the new primary or as a back up. However, pluming is different.

Any suggestions on which to use as main perminate pump. I am now confused.

I need quiet, efficient with no heat transfer. Is Dart way too much flow?

Help.

what do you mean perminate pump? If you mean return pump then use the ampmaster and use the dart on a closed loop.

Personally I think either pump oversized as a return pump unless you are pumping against alot of head pressure. On a 200 display I would try for 800-1100 gph. On my tanks the return pumps are just slightly over what the skimmer can process. I have a dart on a closed loop currently and really like it. I had an older ampmaster that it replaced because it seemed to require changing the seals every 6-12 months which was a PITA. The dare has been running over a year and have never had to mess with it.

My concern

I feel the same way. However, I cant run a chiller so I need no heat transfer. Tank is next to TV so I need silence. I have been throttling ampmaster back for 3 years. I am thinking Dart is event stronger and I would have to throttle back even more. Just thought I would have less maintenence with Dart. But, could I screw it up by putting too much control on it? That is why I am confused which to use.

Sell them both and get an eheim, they are silent and the heat would be insignificant very low power draw, similiar to your tunze's. They also last forever.

Aren't they internal? Low flow?

Largest only 900 gph

Way too small for system. Need more Flow than that. With plumbing and dual returns, would produce 600gph. Would need 2 internally. have no room.
