Skimmer - Coralife Super Skimmer 125

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone is using the Coralife Super Skimmer. I want to use it on a 75GL startup tank. It is the model Super Skimmer 125. I was wondering how good of a skimmer it is. It is cheaper (about $150) than other products and am seriously considering it...Thanks!..any feedback would be appreciated!

I have heard many mixed reviews of the Super Skimmer. I am currently running the 220 and am very pleased with its performance. However, one drawback is it does seem to need to be "tweaked" every now and then for maximum performance. If you're like me and like to poke around your sump, you won't mind. If you want to set it up and forget about it, then it might not be the best choice. IMO, for the money, its great.

Also, $150 for the 125 might be a little pricey. I think I picked up the 220 for around that much at Fosters & Smith.

I have my 220 running for 3 weeks now in my 46 gallon tank, and I am using it as a hanging on the back type. I am not sure if it is running at its maximum performance. It collects around 1/4 inch every two to three days. I found it rather sensitive. Every time I unplugged and re-plugged it, I got no air-bubbles. I had to take the whole thing out of the tank, tweaked it, put it back it and it started to work again.
I have every part firmly attached and I just don't know why. Do you have the same problem?

Collection of skimmate----- is as different as every tanks is! Yes CCS are sensitive skimmers! (You have to play with them more often than big buck ones) But for the money-- They are a good hang on skimmer!
