Removing Ocellaris' Host Leather - will the clown die of depression?
I know it sounds funny but...
I am selling my large leather due to space limitations and will move the ocellaris to a 24g aquapod. The ocellaris has been hosting this leather for more that a year - will he die or?.... i do have hairy mushrooms in the aquapod - he might host that i guess. thanks

Don't do it man. They love thier host.
What if someone took your house and sold it and then made you move into a park somewhere?

They'll get ve-wy ang-wy and attack your hand forever. In the meanwhile they will take to annoying the frogspawn, plate, or anything wavy and soft.

SOOO true. My maron was a sweethart until we moved him. now, he constantly attacks the handshark.
He would be fine, but I would suggest if its at all possible, give the clown with the leather. if not, he will try and host with anything that moves. Quote:

Why not just trim the leather way back and sell the trimmed frags. They way the clown can keep his host (albeit smaller).
Of course he might keep attacking the scissors!

My 9 year old Maroon hasn't suffered since he had to move away from the BTA. I bet it missed it, but with good water, space to swim, plenty to eat ... a year later it's doing just fine.

It does disturb the clown a bit, but they can get along happily without much of anything. Besides, as Sk8r said, they may even find something else.
