Sump or Refugium?

I'm switching from sump to refugium for my 20g tank using a 20g refugium. Any pro and con?

pro - growing macro and pods to clean/feed your display tank
con - skimmer, heater, and any other equipment will have to be moved to display tank for the exception of a pump.

A compromize is to create a section of 20G sump and use it as a fuge.
