Sixline wrasse O.K. with shrimps
Just thinking about putting a Sixline wrasse in my 120 gal but a little worried about my skunk cleaners and peppermint shrimp or will it be O.K.
Just wanted to hear from others that kept them with shrimps and their experience. |

for the most part i agree with reefD, although i would still be a little bit cautious. most sixlines iv seen are just fine, but i saw one that would eat any shrimp you put into the system, but he was also a pretty big guy. all and all, id say go for it.

Reason I am asking is I saw a Pink color wrasse at the Lfs, and it was picking off the peppermint shrimp one by one, until there was none left!

pink color? with stripes like this?
![]() in salt you will always find an exception. in any case if you get him under two inches ( which is how there are commonly sold ) he should be fine. an other thing...were the pepermint shrimp really small? cause ive seen some small ones that even my clowns would eat.lol

No not that fish reefD it was all pink and I couldn't find a pic on liveaquaria site. I told the Lfs employee about it and he said someone mistakenly put that wrasse in the shrimp tank and walk away. Meanwhle the wrasse was going to town on the peps!

As long as the shrimp are not real small you should be fine. I have two in the tank with fire, shunks, and peppermints.

I have a Sixline and HAD two Peppermints. I have zero proof as to why they dissapeared, but I dont think my Chromis ate them. I ignored my tank for about 4 days last summer and they were just gone with no trace.
