Thats awsome rdmpe. i'm actually following allong on your thread. I really like the idea of the rock stacks, i think i will deffinatly doing atleast one of those. how is the flow? do all the T sections reduce it at all? what pump do you have driving it?

ok here is a pic of mine when i was roughing it all in prior to placing it on the stand. the bottom two bulks are for the intake, i used 1 1/2 plumbing here for future pump upgrade. then were have 4 1" bulkheads for the return on the CL. the upper two drive two penductors and the lower two are for the rock rack part of the loop. i turn the penductors off and turn the rock rack loop on and can blow out all the detritus that builds up under it. works awesome and i have no regrets about it.

the rock loop is an interesting idea, do you do a bare bottom tank?

yes i do run a BB tank. here is a pick of the rock racks that allow the cl to function like it does, the other plumbing parts, the Tee with the ells on the end is the inside of the tank cl plumbing.
and here is what it all looks like, i saved easily 50lb of rock by using the racks Tim |

Be very careful, or you will end up with something quite complicated.
I have an 8-way on a closed loop. The 3-way Y near the center of the pic has been replaced with a 4-way super squirt. It serves 1/2 of my return.

Steve,
I just spent an hour at HD buying my parts and mine is simple like Blown's pic. I dropped $160 for everything. How much was yours? Just curious. |

I just finished up the pluming for the 8way off of a Sequence Hammerhead on Sat. There are 4 returns over the top(4 corners) and 4 returns on the bottom in the back of the tank(4 omni flex nozzles). I just have the nozzles stuck in there for now.. I will bring them out into the rockwork when I do the aquascaping.

I did not drill my tank. All inlets & outlets go over the back of the tank. I have a hood that hides all the plumbing.
