Sand Blowing Away
Helllo, i just set up my oceanic 75 reef ready and have a mag 1200 gph pump and am creating dunes and blowing all the sand off the glass on the opposite side of the tank.
Are there any tricks, or mainly where should i point the return pipe. There is a glass top permantly installed in the center of the tank, should i consider pointing retun pipe to blow off of the center piece. Any help would be very much appreciated. thanks |

To Reef Central in time more bacteria will weigh down your sand to keep it from blowing around but until then i would just point it at the center of your glass about half way up and work from there. |

To Reef Central You may want to consider splitting the return into two or more returns. You could split it under the tank and just hang the second return over the lip of the tank. Or you could use loc line and split it where the water enters the tank. Or you could make a spraybar. I wouldn't recommend bouncing the return off the center brace, if it gets knocked over a little you'll be shooting water out of the tank.
