recovering open brain ?
hello everyone. I have had this brain for about 3 months. It was great when I had it.
![]() then one of my anenomes stung it. I thought it would come back but it deteriorated to nothing. Or so I thought. I dug it out of the sand after being buried for about a month. I noticed the skeleton had a little spec of life on it. ![]() ![]() under actinics ![]() the spot of life is on the left of the skeleton. Anyways, I would like any advice improving the health of this little guy (he has grown a little allready). Has anyone been able to feed a brain this small. It is about the size of a dime. Thanks in advance in the help. |

If it doesn't have a mouth you can feed, I think all you can do is keep the water pristine and cross your fingers. It's absolutely astounding what corals can recover from, so don't lose hope.
I bought some LR and found this guy dying on it: ![]() I gave him the best conditions I could and eventually got him taking food (luckily in this case there were mouths I could feed) and this is him earlier this week: ![]() I also brought home this brain, which was bleached and starting to recess: ![]() And he's recovered nicely: ![]() Best of luck, I'm rooting for the little guy! ![]()

I would feed the brain mysis with a turkey baster or something similar to direct feed it.
I would also have it in good lighting and waterflow. |

Thanks for the responses. The brain doesn't have a mouth or a visible one and i haven't seen any tenticles at night. I think it is too small to feed mysis. The mysis are bigger than the brain. Hopefully light will be sufficient for growth. I was just wondering if there was anything else to do.
Blinky - Your story gives me some hope. You're right about what coral can come back from. |
