hardier and less aggressive tang
which would be the best choice: yellow tang, atlantic blue tang, or mimic tang?

what size tank? i think the yellow tang would be a good choice.

I dont have any experience with a blue tangs or mimic tangs but I had a yellow in my 85 that pretty much harassed my diamond goby and foxface lo non stop, just my experience

55 gallon is too small for any of those 3 tangs. The only tang that might be okay in a 55 might be a kole tang.

I have a yellow and its fine. They can be dirty but keep up on testing the water and water changes and you should be ok. Try to get one smaller than your other fish though.
