eurofil sump

i have a eurofil sump and i removed the filter sock because i read on here what nitrate magnets they are. anhd i have been having nitrate problems (>100) for the past month.

i had to put in PVC pipe where the water entered the sump and now flowing out of the PVC along w/ the water are lots of air bubbles....

are these ok?
what can i do to limit amount of air?

thanks in advanbce

filter socks are great to have in the tank but you just have to rinse them out evry other day or so to keep them from building up nitrates

will it help to drill holes into the ends of the PVC pipes to stop the sandblasting type effect??

and to reduce the number of air bubbles???
