Thanks for all the responses as im having a bit of a nitrate problem only 5ppm but i wanted to get it to 0ppm so i had this aqualifter pump laying around and i also had an old phosban reactor so i filled it up with some nitrate sponge from kent marine thats the only cheap choice that i had here and set it up and put to work my DIY denitrator lets see how it works out i have the denitrator set at the output at 1 drop per second but any ideas or advice are welcome also here is a pic of the setup.

Im sure you can bring it up to full throttle as nitrate sponge is made to run in sumps/filters anyways is it not?
