LR help

on my live rock in my 12g nano there is air bubbles forming on my top rock closest to the top of the tank. The whole top surface of the rock whas covered with tons air bubbles. 2 days ago i poped a few of the bubbles to see what would happen. It was like a thin layer of alge that came off the rock.(and LOTS of it ) I turned off the light to stop the alge growth. To day when i turned the light back on the whole top side of the rock was black alge.

What is this and What can i do to cure it?
What do i need to do to Provent it?
