is there any special glue for cloosed loop plumbing?

I am going to be setting up my closed loop system here in the next day or two...I will just be using PVC for the piping, is there a special glue I need that will not leach toxins into the tank or will just the regular stuff work?

Depands on the type of PVC... but otherwise just the PVC cement designed to work with the type of PVC you have. IE Spa-flex vs. regular

The regular stuff worked for me. I let it dry over night and rinsed it well with water. No problems at all.

I thought regular PVC cement was the correct cement to connect spa-flex to PVC fittings, was I wrong? I just bought my first bit of spa-flex to use (24 feet for the price of 12 feet!), and don't want leaks!

As far as normal pvc-to-pvc, I just use the 'regular' pvc cement.

I used the same for both rigid and spaflex. No problems.

From plumbingsupply.com in reference to spa-flex:
"We recommend a quality purple primer/cleaner and a thick PVC solvent (such as Christy's Red Hot) to join this pipe to regular PVC fittings"

if you use spa flex def use the rain or shine. its a little more forgiving. im sure you will find people that have used the reg stuff with no problem but the rain or shine is the best
