Bioload question
My 90 gallon is finally cycled and I added 3 chromis yesterday. I'm wanting to shut down my 12 gallon and move everything over. I moved a few zoo frags over to try to see if the T5 lighting is going to be too bright. I only have 1 fish (6line wrasse) in the 12 gallon. When can i move the fish over to the 90? I don't want to add too much to quick. The chromis are about an inch long each. The wrasse is about an inch and a half.
Thanks! |

Well I always wait one week/7 days before adding fish. If adding many aggresive fish its best to add them all at once. In your case I would wait 3 or 4 days inbetween moving the fish.
The corals and rocks shouldnt make enough impact on a 90 gallon tank to matter. My two pennies.

Amy, you have such a large tank. If it is completely cycled I don't see a problem. The rock (I assume you have live rock) you move shouldn't cause a cycle if it is not out of the water for any length of time. There should be no die off. If you have the time, I agree with omni, wait a bit, just for safety's sake, then move the fish over. I'm guessing that it is healthy and all that. I doubt that the 6-line would put a dent in the water params.
Good luck, Frank |
