300 Gallon System
the above is the basic drawing of the tank i am having made. The two overflows look wierd but they will look normal later. The tank will be 72*24*30. And one small side will touch the wall. I think it is referred to as penninsula tank. I plan on having about 1200gph go through the sump. I wanted the bigger holes so i could handle more flow if i wanted it. I am thinking a blueline velocity T4. it does 1200 at 5'6". Do you think this is a good choice? I thought because it is quiet and small. I know that you need more flow through a tank but no so much through the sump. so I that is why I am only having 1200gph through sump. I plan on using two 6100's on a multi controller for flow. that accompnied with 1200gph should be more than sufficient For lights I am having 3 250 watt MH with two 96 watt actinics and moon ligths. All in total the tank will sit at about 66 inches or 5.5 feet. I am making the stand myself to customize it. What kind of skimmer, calcium reactor, should I get? How big should I make the fuge. and anything else that looks like a problem. |

Go with a Deltec skimmer for your soon to be sweet set up. I purchased the Deltec hang on the back and it did not work out for me b/c it was too noisy for where it was in my home. But man, that little skimmer could skim! I understand the larger ones are awesome.
