What's happening w/ my Yellow Fiji

My yellow fiji appears to be very happy and healthy in it's location, but I want to make sure what I observe is normal.

During the course of a day it expands, lightens in color to a bright yellow and extends polyps all over its' surface and in late evening it retracts polyps, shrinks and becomes a dull brownish yellow. I believe this is normal.

Also, occassionally I've observed several thin milky strands extending 3-4 inches from the fiji. Is this normal and why is it happening?

The milky strands is a waxy coating that the coral is shedding. It is normal. Closing up at night is also normal.
