hamilton bulb changing color
over the past 3 weeks i have noticed a drastic change in one of my 250w 14k hamilton bulbs. it was normal, but now it is around 9,000k and my tank looks hideous. i emailed hamilton to see what they could do.
what do you think could have happened, the bulb is only 7 months old. |

I have been running 14K hami for about a month now. They started out looking like 10K but now look more like a 14K. My bulbs have seemed to do the opposite. I'm running them with blueline E ballast. What ballasts are you using?

Mine started out with a yellow tint and after a couple weeks have gone to a white with a blue tint. Not nearly as blue as 175s, but they are not a crisp white. Will they loose the blue tint over time?

I had the same thing happen and emailed Hamilton and they sent me a new bulb. After two weeks it is doing the same thing. Not enough to change out but I will definately not buy another Hamilton.

Depending on photo period, they may be near the end of their life....
