why does my skimmer stop makeing foam after I add a carbon filter?
So that's my question..
I was looking for more clarity to the water so I added a magnum 350 and loaded it with kent carbon.after a about an hour, the skimmer stopped makeing foam. It is still makeing bubbles....just no foam. - Kurtis - still learning how things work |

The carbon is most likely taking some of the organics out of the water. Same thing happens to me, You should see your skimmer pick back up shortly.

Either the removal of organics initiates a disturbance or, more likely, IMO, smaller carbon particles interrupt skimming.
